Thank you, my friends. Your contributions have made this campaign a brilliant achievement of the entire TYBMM. It has (with some exceptions, i admit) demonstrated how many people can coexist and work together to acheive a common goal. The BEEP Day went raging well, it seems to me, and we got a lot of compliments upon its conclusion. The rally was well followed - 'Swami Beepanand Ki Jai!', 'Ek do, ek do, Gaaliyon ko Phek Do' and 'Paap hai, Paap hai, Gaali Dena Paap Hai' were all well received by our audience. After that, the street play went briliiant and the rock concert and the end of it was the perfect finish.

There were many hitches and glitches on the way to this day, but my friends, I am proud of the final output of this day. May all my friends, especially of TYBMM (I will not differentiate between ads and journo, that's just plain dumb) remember this as the day we marched - to glory, to blahblahblah.... and a swear free environment (err.... wishful thinking is allowed, right?)

BEEP CAMPAIGN

Here, we are ready to write about all groups of our class that are hard at work, but no negative news about any. For example, our group has come up with 8 posters and are soon planning to inundate the college with over a 100 posters. Other groups that have come up with posters are Maroof’s group, Snehal’s group and Reema’s group. We congratulate them on their hard work and for promoting this crusade for peace

I Know, verbal abuse is hard to give up. But then, so are drinking and smoking

Old habits die hard, they say. I trust that many of us might have considered giving up use of swear words, but quit when it would just slip out, somehow. Well, I believe that you can start by abstinence. Replace swear words with a BEEP and slowly give up swearing altogether. And every time u choose not to swear, congratulate yourself on steadily moving towards becoming a better person.



I do not really wish to draw parallels between drinking/smoking habits and swearing, but the fact is that though drinking and smoking are more harmful to a person at the physical level, verbal abuse is also quite harmful, albeit at a mental level.

Here we go. The moment we are blessed with a sponsor and some money (a great deal, thanks to our sponsors Reliance Communications, Tata Indicom, LNCT Group and JSS Securities) we feel like taking over the world. Only to realize that the media like TV and print and hoardings are way beyond our budget. Therefore, we go for a rally. Free T-Shirts (possibly a vada pav distri as well) and all people come n sign on our flexes and all. All students of Bhavans College are particularly invited.

Beep is not the destination, it is just a step from negativity

You see, a campaign against abusive language may seem trivial to many, especially those in the younger bracket of society, but our campaign is not just to censor the words, we also wish to cleanse the minds. Let me explain, if you wish. When you choose not to swear, you bring in yourself self discipline. This self-discipline allows you to consider your actions before mouthing words that you could regret someday. We know it is not our place to interfere in anyone’s personal life, but swearing is heard by all the people around you and therefore is a public action.

But we do admit that it may seem impossible for anyone to just stop swearing immediately. Therefore start, and the improvements will begin to show later.

My friends (as I do believe you all are) - I have adapted the quote of this topic from Shakespeare, but the message we wish to convey is extremely simple and straightforward. We feel it is wrong to abuse, and verbal abuse is as bad as(if not worse than) any other form of abuse. We see a man drinking. When he goes back to his home, he first abuses his wife, and then beats her to pulp. Even in the case of a simple fight in school or college or even on the road, we see verbal abuse precede the physical one. It acts like a catalyst and flares up the negativity within the beings, causing actions that many of us regret later. Therefore censor the negative words and lead yourself to a better mindset!

Hello people,

We are planning to hold a campaign against abusive language. Abusive language is not only offending but also dirty. Why use it? Its sick. Creates negativity in you and leads to worse consequences. Seriously, guys, its not cool anymore. It will be held from today till the end of august in Mumbai at Bhavan's College, Andheri (W)
